Memphis, TN – The On Location: MEMPHIS International Film & Music Fest has dubbed its 16th year in existence as the Year of Giving. The festival’s organizers will continue that commitment to the community on Sunday, February 22, with an Oscar Night Watch Party that will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Memphis.
Slated to take place at Strano! Sicilian Kitchen and Bar in the Cooper Young section of Midtown, the Oscar Night Watch Party will bring together food and film lovers in the name of giving back to the community that inspires artists each and every day. The event will kick off at 5:30 p.m. and is free to the public. However, OL:M suggests those attending make a donation of $10 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Memphis. Dinner is not included.
“It’s every filmmaker’s dream to win an Academy Award, and we’re proud to be a part of that journey,” said On Location: MEMPHIS President Angela Green. “Showcasing great art and giving back to the community are at the core of what we do, so we’re thrilled this party will feature a little of both.”
The Oscar Night Watch Party will also include multiple giveaways throughout the evening, including the chance for those who attended the recent Short Films program to be named Oscar Night Winners if they made correct predictions in each category. Prizes are courtesy of Malco Theatres – which is celebrating 100 years of entertaining Mid-South audiences in 2015.
